Zeuty and Zeuty Patooty all nicknames for our first born son,
Midnight Sun Spot. Zeus was our first foal and our one to Mel and only
attempt at Walkaloosas, and you could have asked for none better. Out of RBR
Pictur Perfect our Appaloosa mare and a black Tennessee Walker
Stallion. Zeus is growing into his spots and adding to them each year.
Always our "braveheart",
even as a foal, he never balked at "checking out" scary horse
eating threats like lawn tractors, idling cars, big blue scary tarps. As I
recall he was even the one who let everyone out of the pasture one day
with his “prehensile” lips. After that the gates were always tied shut
for added security!
It was only natural when Mel came
along that the two were destined for each other. Mel being an avid trail
rider and hunter almost immediately became attached to each other, a man
and his horse. Mel remarked to us one day that the thing that attracted
him to Zeus was that he was
a "Big Baby"! I, for one have never
seen a horse take to some one so fast. Although his mother was
similar she was a one-owner horse!
Mel is planning on taking Zeus
backcountry hunting this summer, hopefully we will get good pictures to
show you of their adventures…stay tuned for more.
That story was written over 3 years
ago and Mel and Zeus continue to ride everywhere imaginable. They are as
inseparable as bread and butter! Their travels have included Western
Washington, Idaho and Colorado. Zeus is both a leader and a packer....
Congratulations Mel in making us extremely proud of our first born
son......Keep racking up those miles.
Look for additional stories soon.................
